Created by Julio Bermejo at Tommy’s Mexican Restaurant in San Francisco in the 1990s, this version of the classic Mexican cocktail replaces triple sec with Agave syrup, beautifully enriching the flavours of the tequila.
60ml Herradura blanco tequila (shop)
30ml Lime juice
15ml Agave syrup (shop)
Garnish: Salt rim
Prepare a rocks glass with a salt rim.
Add all of the ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake well.
Fine-strain over ice into a rocks glass and pop in a wedge of lime.
